Freshly baked cookies (from scratch) and a glass of milk. One of my favorite things in the world. ;)

This is how I spent my Saturday. Now, I don’t usually make cookies from scratch, so I was a little nervous to see how these would turn out. But I found a recipe on Pinterest and just had to try it out. Plus, it helped that I was in a total baking mood today.

I gotta say, they turned out pretty darn delicious. Here is the recipe I used, and I’m a big fan of white chocolate, so I added those in along with milk chocolate chips. I think it makes it 10x better.

Oh also, that is a screenshot of the conversation my sister and I had about my cookies. If you don’t know what we’re quoting, watch this video. I never understood more what that little boy was feeling. I really did feel happy of myself. :)

We have had the most perfect weather these past couple of days here in Washington, so I’ve been trying to make the most of it, because it’ll be gone in an instant.

I had milkshakes, went on picnics, rode scooter/motorcycle things, laid on the trampoline soaking up some rays (while listening to my brother play music for me, and took naps on the trampoline. Aaaand, the picture of that puppy has nothing to do with the nice weather, I just had to share it cause it’s so darn cute. His name is Nelson, and I’m going to puppynap him from my friend. Yeah, I know. Everyone who is turning 22 this year is probably going to have this as their Facebook status, or tweet, or whatever other form of social media possible. But I don’t care. I still think this song was meant for me. I mean, it did come out right before my birthday, so obviously Taylor wrote it specifically for me. Duh.

Anyways, this past year sure flew by. I mean, didn’t I just turn 21 like last week? *sigh* Well, one goal I have for this next year, preferably sometime soon, is to find a big person job. It’s time to move on. I need a new chapter in my life. Yes. Someday soon.

In honor of the ACM’s tonight, I would like to express my love for country music. I wasn’t able to catch the show live, but I will find a way to watch it. Simply because Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan are hosting it.

Speaking of Luke Bryan… he is possibly my new favorite country guy. And I got over-the-moon excited when I found out he would be at this year’s Watershed Festival (flashback to last year). The line up looks so amazing, and I was so stoked for the summer. Until yesterday, when I found out tickets are completely sold out. I guess it was such a huge hit last year that tickets went like crazy this time. Aaaand, now I’m sad. depressed? distraught? all of the above.

I’m still mourning, but I’ll have to get over it I suppose. Now I need to find something else super exciting to do this summer. And hopefully a Luke Bryan concert will be in my near future. I’ll see you one day, Luke.

So… anyone else addicted to JT’s newest album? Because I sure as heck am.

At first, I was mainly just listening to the three songs I knew already: Suit and Tie, Pusher Love Girl, and Mirrors. Which btw, have you seen the Mirrors music video? Amazing. Plus, once you listen to the lyrics, it’s such a sweet song. And apparently it’s for Jessica Biel. That lucky girl.

Anyways, now that I’ve just been playing the whole album on repeat, basically all the time, I like all of the songs now. They all have such a catchy beat about them, and for some reason, a lot of them sound kind of old fashioned, but I love it. So if you don’t have this album, you need to get it. Be warned though: you will have these songs stuck in your head. all. day.

“The power of God’s love is timeless.”

I thoroughly enjoyed my church’s opening this Easter. Simply because they sang “Power of Love,” which in my family is also known as, the “Back to the Future” song. We love us some Marty McFly. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the series throughout my lifetime. So when this song came on, I instantly loved it. So here ya go, enjoy. :)

Since other people still need their coffee on Easter Sunday, I’m working. So my Easter is coming early this year. Easter Saturday anyone?

I would prefer to be able to go on actual Easter, but I’m also glad that my church has, I think, 8 services to choose from. I also thought it was pretty cool how high tech they are, with reserving seats online, and being on Passbook and everything. Good job Champions Centre!

Guess who’s back, back again.

No, slim shady isn’t back. Just me. But with new hair! Compliments of my friend, with all the professional training of youtube tutorials, and all the fancy tools that came in the Loreal box kit we bought at Target.

I had been wanting to change up my hair for awhile now. Especially since I’ve had the same style for the past 2+ years. I grew it out a bit, and finally decided I wanted to go for it, the new ombre style that’s so in right now. So I pinterested, showed some pictures to my friend, and she did it for me that very day. How much more spontaneous can you get?

Now, seeing as I’ve never ever colored my hair before this, I was a tad scared, but I went through with it, and I absolutely LOVE it. New hairdo FTW! I might go even lighter next time, this was just a little baby step, a very subtle change. But hey, I’d say it turned out pretty awesome if my sister and my aunt both want to copy me now. :)

Something occurred to me the other day. I now think of ice skating as a “winter sport.” It’s December, so that means we should plan a little field trip to the ice rink, right?

But for most of my life, Sprinker, the skating rink, was like a second home to me. 10+ years of going a minimum of 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, almost all year round, and now I go once, maybe twice a year? It’s just plain crazy to think about.

But I got to go with a great group of friends, and have pizza afterwards. It was a fun night. It definitely makes me miss it though. I wish I had the time/money to start again. Maybe one day. But it is really nice to be able to still do “those twirly things,” as my friends called them. :)

Hopefully I’ll be able to make it at least one more time before the year ends, or the world… I have a week. :/ (just kidding!)

If you haven’t been ice skating yet, you should! It truly is a great “winter activity” and lots of fun! Happy December!

It’s been almost 3 weeks since Taylor Swift’s new album “Red” came out, and yet it is still on repeat in my car, on my computer, and anywhere else possible. I am a huge fan and I don’t care what anyone says. Her lyrics never cease to amaze me. I don’t simply memorize the words, but I listen for the meaning behind them.

I really do love every song on this album, and I have no idea when it’s going to stop being the only thing I listen to. I’m pretty sure I listened to “Fearless” for a couple months straight (at least), so I guess we’ll see.

Here is my absolute favorite song from the album right now though. Probably because, currently, I feel like I can relate to it in my life. ;)

After watching Wicked for the first time last year on my trip to New York, I became slightly obsessed with it. I went into it not knowing too much about it. But afterwards, I bought the soundtrack (and listened to it for quite awhile) and bought the book (which I semi-began reading…). So when I heard it was coming here to Seattle, I was overcome with joy, and had to make sure to see it again. And let me tell ya, it was still as good as I remember. A few reasons why it’s so amazing:

the music. even when i didn’t know the words, it was still great.
it’s funny. there’s little smart jokes thrown in here and there, in speech and in song.
it’s smart. i love how they have all these little details that connect to the wizard of oz.
the story. it just changes your whole perspective on the wicked witch.

Now, I haven’t seen that many broadway shows, but Wicked definitely is my favorite, and will probably be hard to top. So go watch it!

Seriously, Carrie Underwood can sing. Like, no joke. The show was absolutely amazing. So was the opening act. Hunter Hayes anyone? Apparently, he can play 30 different instruments. And he’s only 21. *cough* my age, just sayin’. :) But back to the show, it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to, and it just made me an even bigger fan of Carrie Underwood.

Best part of the night was when the entire arena sang every word to Before He Cheats. Even grown men were rocking out to it.

I think that now that it’s fall, a whole three months since graduating, it is finally hitting me that I am done. Done with school. I go to work, and listen to everyone talking about classes starting, and buying books, and the need to study, and for once, I have nothing to add to these conversations. It’s September, and I don’t have tests or papers or group projects.

What’s weird is that I both love it, and hate it. Well, the hate is more just my being scared and not knowing what to do now. I still feel like I’m not quite ready to have to get an “adult” job yet, but I also have people telling me that’s what I need to do, and that I shouldn’t be working as a barista when I have a bachelor’s degree.

It would just be so much easier if I knew exactly what it was I wanted to do. And had all the connections to get there, because apparently, that’s how you get places, is by knowing the right people.

Anywho, if someone could please figure out my dream job, and give it to me, that’d be great. Because if I were to create my own dream job, it may consist of a lot of watching tv, buying/wearing cute clothes, eating ice cream, and getting paid big bucks. And I don’t think that exists. So some help would be awesome. Thanks. Now I’m off to do some more procrastinating on this job/internship search.

Oh, how I can’t wait for the day when I have a job with no uniform.

I had the past two days off work in wonderful, warm, sunshiny weather, which meant I could paint my nails (using scotch tape for the first time, which I absolutely love) and dress cute (which includes no polo shirts, one of my least favorite things to wear).

I really do wish that I have figured out a way to take a self-portrait and not look awkward/conceited, because I was really happy with my outfits these past couple days, but this’ll have to do for now. There are just those days when you are totally confident in what you’re wearing and how your hair looks, and I just had two in a row. Success! Now back to work I go.

Note to self: start looking for a real job. And soon.

I got to see Tyler Hilton, aka Chris Keller from One Tree Hill, perform last night, and it was amazing. It was a small venue, but I think those are the best, rather than being in a crowd of tens of thousands of people, and you can’t even see the person performing. I mean, I got to be front and center, and it was like he was singing right to me. :) Plus, he did a meet and greet after, and I shook his hand, said hi, and that’s pretty much all I could say. I get really nervous talking to celebrities. Pictures weren’t allowed, but I did get an autograph, so that’s awesome.

Anyways, I absolutely love his voice, and will love anything he sings, but this song above and this song off his newest album are a couple of my favorites.

So… remember this post? Well, I totally made up for it by going skydiving instead. Not exactly what I wanted to do, but it was very last minute. My aunt turned 50 this week, and decided that she wanted to jump out of a plane to celebrate. She needed someone to go with her, so I said, “Why not? I’ve done it before. No big deal.” Haha!

It definitely is an amazing thing to experience, but it just doesn’t give me that feeling of adrenaline rushing through me. I know it sounds crazy, but it really isn’t that scary. There’s basically no time to really think, and you’re falling so fast -about 140 mph- that it just feels like a really really strong wind is hitting you in the face.

But hey, this at least fulfills my adrenaline quota for the year. So far, 2010: skydiving, 2011: bungee jumping, 2012: skydiving again. What’s next?
